Awarding the prison inmates gives a ray of light and hope in the darkness that they are surrounded in. This small gesture plays a big part by boosting their morale and their drive towards positivity.Tinka Tinka Awards is a message for them that they should produce more works and there is a possibility for them to be known by their talent. This is indeed a great step by Tinka Tinka Movement towards prison reforms and I feel we need more such movements like Tinka Tinka in our society. #tinkatinka #vartikananda #humanrights #prisonreforms.
Tinka Tinka is constantly working with the thought of reforming the inmates and giving them a better life and inspiring people who are on the wrong path to change and make a better life. Creativity can help one let go of a lot of what disrupts his/her peace of mind. Also, creativity has the potential to introduce someone to appreciation. Appreciation is important in the lives of these inmates because they are already seen as an outcast in society. It’s a hope to any inmate who thinks his/her past makes him/her unworthy of appreciation and just a subject of criticism. It’s high time we break these generalizations that persistently prevail. If someone is willing to change we ought to make it easier for them, that’s what Tinka Tinka Foundation aims for and that’s what they are efficiently pursuing. #vartikananda #tinkatinka #prison
Reforming the lives of people who are condemned every step of the way, are at the very bottom of society’s respect list and are barely even considered ‘human’ by the society, is truly a novel and noble work. Reforming the lives of people who truly deserve a second chance without judging them, their past and their lives is a need of the hour in a third world country like India where the condition of jails is so bad that at certain places, jail inmates take turns to get a night’s sleep, that too for a duration of 4 hours only. The Tinka Tinka bandini and India awards, the wall paintings and coffee table books, theme songs and many other such reforms brought about by the prison reforms model Tinka tinka, are exemplary and worthy of praise. #tinkatinka #vartikananda #prisonreforms #jailreforms #humanrights #awards #TTIA #TTBA
We all strive hard to get appraised for our skills. But we never thought of awarding inmates for their skills. Tinka Tinka has turned this imagination into reality by releasing first-ever awards to inmates named Tinka Tinka India Awards and Tinka Tinka Bandini Awards. These awards are divided into different categories of painting, writing, and poems. Not only inmates but the prison authorities are too awarded for their contribution in helping life to grow behind bars. Undoubtedly Tinka Tinka is proving its tagline of creating rainbows behind bars.
Tinka Tinka is doing a commendable task. Not only this, it is the first-ever mission worldwide that focuses to reform life behind bars. Tinka Tinka is the only foundation that has released its own newsletter that will connect jails across India. Also, the Tinka Tinka Book series is the first book written from the life behind bars.

Tinka Tinka India Awards is a great initiative by Vartika Nanda. The prison system should not be about punishing and dehumanizing the inmate; rather about rehabilitation. Through this award, the inmates not only have something to look forward to in their mundane and rigid life of prison; but can also develop new skills like painting. It would be amazing to see the categories of the award to expand to creative writing, music, and other art forms.
