  1. Tinka Tinka Foundation is appreciating inmates for their creativity and talent which has faded inside the four walls of a jail. This year, Tinka India Awards invited entries from both the inmates & prison administrators and the four categories for prizes included – Poetry, Painting, Special Talent and Prison Reforms. There were a total of 15 Awardees and inmates from Chattisgarh, UP, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat bagged most of the awards. Vartika Nanda is helping these inmates to find their passion and hope for a better life. Finding such talents in such a cruel environment is rare but Tinka Tinka is not a problem as their motive is to reform these inmates and do best for the inmates.

    1. The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more. Inmates exhibiting profound creative talents and administrators doing extraordinary work in prisons have been awarded with Special Awards by Tinka Tinka. These are national awards and the first of its kind recognising the good work done by both jail staff and inmates. I believe nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm and appreciation and this commendable initiative taken by Dr.VartikaNanda to encourage inmates to exhibit their creativity, highlighting the issues of jail reforms and human rights, signifies her great contribution to the reformation of Jails in India. Her efforts to recognise and appreciate these prisoners are admirable and praiseworthy.

  2. This is such a wonderful initiative by Tinka Tinka Movement. Honouring the prison inmates for their creativity and talent would encourage them to produce more works. It was a good idea to give awards to the authorities also. It is a great news that there are authorities who have worked hard for introducing various reformatory ideas in prisons. Hats off to Ms Vartika Nanda for her determination and hard work towards prison reforms. #tinkatinka #prisonreforms #vartikananda #tihar #humanrights.

  3. It is noteworthy how apart from recognizing and honoring the talents of jail inmates, TTIA has also recognized the efforts and works of various people such as Somesh Goyal, IPS,Lal Ratnakar Singh, Jailor,Manoj Kumar Arya, Senior Superintendent, Shivaji Singh and Anand Pandey from Dasna Jail, Uttar Pradesh. Their contributions are seldom noted and appreciated but are key to maintaining the daily administration and functioning of a jail, which froms an integral part of our society. It is also heartwarming how the talents of jail inmates that were not recognized before have finally been brought to light and people’s attention to the talents of jail inmates has been drawn by the novel and exemplary efforts of Dr.Vartika Nanda and Tinka Tinka Prison Reforms Movement. #tinkatinka #prisonrefoms #vartikananda #jails #ttia #awards #jailsofindia

  4. Tinka Tinka awards are one of it’s kind which no-one have every thought of. These awards are unique and draws attention to the social isolation that inmates overcome through their passion towards activities. They are highly motivated and encouraged by these awards. 5.

  7. Awards, not only show forms of encouragement to the receiver, and that his or her works stands out, it also helps the others to acknowledge their talent. This initiative was taken by Tinka Tinka as another step towards bringing rainbows into their dimly lit world. Prisons are rehabilitation centers that help the inmates go back into society with hopes of reintegration. However, very little is done to help them with their creativity. These doors have been opened through this prison reforms foundation through the Tinka India Awards. Much admiration and inspiration do these initiatives bring about.

  8. Through Tinka Tinka Jail Reforms, Vartika Nanda has pioneered a movement in India focusing on prison reforms and reformation of the inmates by encouraging them through art, culture, literature, and media.Tinka Tinka India award will give incentive to inmates to develop their talents and creativity. It is also very good to know that organizations are recognizing the hard work of prison staff and administrations. It will motivate them to do better. She has written three books Tinka Tinka Tihar, Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh, Tinka Dasna, and gives a true representation of life inside prisons. Instead of sensationalizing, she has written about the true and lived experiences of inmates and even their children who unfortunately are also lodged inside prisons. She brings a softer side to inmates who are troubled because they can’t meet their families, but even the smallest of things gives them joy like music, dancing, painting, etc. Her newest initiative is of opening a prison radio in Haryana, she has earlier done so in Agra. Workshops were held to train inmates and to develop their talents and creativity. The work of Dr. Vartika Nanda, the founder of the movement of prison reforms in India, is a testament to the idea that rehabilitation and not punishment is the answer. The radio will also keep the inmates informed about their rights and will give them respite in these challenging times of the pandemic when the inmates cannot have any visitors.#tinkatinka #tinkamodelofprisonreforms #awards #vartikananda #prisonreforms #movement

  9. The highest form of service is to help a person who is incapable of thanking in return. Tinka awards are following the steps of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. I cannot believe how a person can think about so immensely about inmates. A life behind the bars is a physical as well as mental torture. Tinka awards has done a wonderful job by initiating these awards. Grateful. #vartikananda #tinkaawards #prisonreforms
