Corona Jail Diary:

  1. The World Music Day is celebrated every year on June 21 in over 120 countries including its country of origin France where it is known as ‘Fête de la Musique’ meaning “festival of music” to honor both amateur and professional musicians. Tinka Tinka Foundation is celebrating this day with inmates to promote and spread goodwill through music. Plus Vartika Nanda has written Tinka Tinka Tihar book which is poetry and all the books and creative pursuits of Tinka point towards the softer side of prisons. Tihar brought poetry as Tinka Tinka Dasna is a live narration on jail life and Madhya Pradesh is a comparison of Indian jails with colors and real-life images. World Music Day was celebrated with these inmates and boosted their confidence. And Vartika Nanda is putting her support in this International Music Day.

  2. A beautiful and heartwarming initiative taken by the tinka tinka foundation to introduce music in jail. The prisoners usually say that even one day of their lives feels like a year is passing. The prisoners go through hell because of lack of entertainment and energy in the prison. They are stuck within four walls depression, agony, pain and sorrow. By introducing music and art as a form of encouragement the prisoners are getting a morale boost and a drive to stay positive and keeps them mentally healthy. #vartikananda #tinkatinka #jail #prisonreforms

  3. Today whatever change has come in the life of these prisoners, it has come only because of Vartika Nanda Ma’am.
Brick by brick, ma’am you have built an enviable new movement towards prisoners. She started his work with a small ray of light and has gone so far today. It is only possible through her hard work and dedication. Tinka Tinka movement have served as rainbow colour and made the lives of prisoners much better today; letting them participating in various activities.
Some prisoners encouraged the other prisoners by making paintings on the wall of the jail. Four prisoners come forward with their impressive talents namely Vivek Swami, Kishan, Sanjay and Deepak were 25 to 35 years old youth who made a painting and illuminated the name of the prison and also shot a song in front of the painting. The song which was titled Tinka Tinka Dana has been sung by 13 people, out of which 10 people were on life imprisonment and the rest three are out now. These inmates not only participate in a healthy activity but they also inspire other prisoners to take part.

  4. The jails may be able to contain the bodies of the inmates, but the four walls cannot stop a person’s a imagination, it is absolutely free. This is beautifully reflected in the reforms brought about by Tinka Tinka prison reforms movement, a one of it’s kind, dedicated and novel prison reforms model, founded by Dr. Vartika Nanda. While the books Tinka Tinka Dasna and Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh let you delve into the world of prisons as you see and learn how they spend their everyday lives and come to know of their aspirations and hopes, joys and despair, through the eyes of jail inmates, including females, and 4 children lodged in the jail along with a prahari, the Tinka Tinka India Awards and the Tinka Tinka bandini awards are national awards given to inmates from over the country by a special jury that bring to light the talents, creative and effective works and contributions to the jails and the society made by the prisoners as well as the prison administrators. It is inspiring that a jail which is so infamously believed to be a source of negativity can be so inspiring, as shown by Tinka tinka. More power to Dr. Vartika Nanda and to Tinka Tinka prison reforms movement! #tinkatinka #vartikananda #prisonreforms #jailreforms #madhyapradeshjail #dasnajail #indianjails #jail

  5. In 2016, on the occasion of International Music Day, and Tinka Tinka experiment in Dasna Jail, 13 prisoners of this prison sang songs written by Vartika Nanda. Months of hard work was done. This song became the theme song of the jail. The wall was decorated by 4 detainees and all composed together – a unique music that will live for years. This journey of music started from Tihar has been settled in the breath of Tinka.

  6. It is amazing to see how much talent and creativity these inmates have and still no recognition is given to them. But Dr. Vartika Nanda’s mission to make these inmates more than just a number and to develop them into contributing citizens of the country is very inspiring. This movement started by her has brought a tremendous change in the lives of inmates, be it through the prison radio or Tinka Tinka India Awards. I hope ma’am is able to spread this movement further and create rainbows in more and more prisons. #tinkatinka #dasna #prisonreforms #tinkamodelofprisonreform
